Sound Machine Models with Headphone Jacks

Silence is golden.

We see this phrase a lot in libraries but it also applies in places such as the cinema, religious places and place of mourning. Silence is considered as a sign of respect in some places and in other places, silence is a form of discipline. Others view silence as a requirement so they can work, sleep or enjoy themselves. Too bad this rule does not apply in an airplane or bus.

A lot of times the traveling environment can work against you, especially when you are constantly moving around for work. Cars honking each other, people talking loudly on the phone and the engine roaring next to you are all negative sounds. They disturb you and you just cannot feel in peace with those noises and get tired when you reach your destination.

That is why some people need to use sound machine to try to obtain sound peace. The sound machines actually look like CD players. They are built to be small and portable so you can carry them around and use them whenever you want. Some of them have an output jack so you can connect them to your speaker system if you want to pump up the volume.

Sound machines are equipped with a technology that combats those negative sounds – white noise.

If you do not know, white noise is a mix of different wavelength and sound frequency. You can imagine it as the sound of the fan blowing at your face or the sound of waterfall from a distant. The sound acts like a spice because it can mix with other sounds and make it feel more soothing.

A good model is the Homedics SS-2000. It is small and looks like a small radio when you put it in your car. It has a headphone jack so you can listen to it and not disturb the other passengers in your car.

If you want a portable device with a headphone jack then you should go for the Sound Oasis S-550-05 or Sound Oasis S-850. They are smaller than the Homedics SS-2000 and they can either be played through their speakers or be connected to a headphone. The small size makes them excellent to be brought around if you’re always on the move.

They can also run on battery so you do not have to worry about looking for power plug when you need to use them. They also have timer features so it will not continuously drain the battery when you're already fallen asleep.

You can also use the sound machine when you are traveling in a night bus or plane. You can request a headphone or bring your own if you prefer. If you do use it with noise canceling headphones, you will feel as if you’re complete isolated and transported away from reality. It’s great for long distance travel, especially if you plan to arrive at your destination feeling alert and refreshed.
